Hi I'm Faith the employment coordinator at Happy Futures, I will be setting up a range of opportunities for all the individuals who we support to have a wide and varied choice of work experiences. I will be helping to build on existing skills to support individuals to find their way into work. I believe that everyone in society should feel that they are a valued member of society therefore regardless of ability everyone will have the opportunity to contribute to charitable works.
I worked for Wakefield's Special Educational Needs Support Service for over 5 years as a communication and technology support worker, this afforded me the opportunity to work with a great team delivering services to children with many different types of disabilities. I am also a parent of a child with a rare genetic disorder with both learning and physical disabilities so this puts me in a unique position of understanding both sides of the coin so to speak.
I have always valued my voluntary work and contributed where possible, I have helped both JSUK and 1Voice Yorkshire set up and deliver family fun days, produced newsletters and leaflets in easy read format for various organisations and services. I have also contributed to local parent and carers support groups to have a voice within councils and health services.
I am passionate about working alongside people with disabilities to make a better and happier future for all!
